Men's Fashion

Hey Everyone! :)

I hope everyone had a fabulous thanksgiving :). Mine was so good, I think i'll be eating leftovers for a while...

Anyway, off to a topic that I am sure a lot of people have been waiting for...MEN'S FASHION.

Now, gentlemen normally don't care about fashion...except ones who are in the industry where they need to care about fashion: Acting, Fashion, Business, etc.

Here are awesome examples of what men should wear:

1st part-SUITS:

See? These suits are classic :) you can wear it for business or you can wear it to a nice dinner. (little tip: girls love men in suits...at least I know I do).

Here are examples of the way celebs do it:

Here's an example of my friend Nathan who does a 50s style of a suit:

But you men get the point :) you can do any form of suit and still look good...unless it's a tux from the 1970s and it's frilly...then probably you need an upgrade ;).

2nd Part:  A good Tux

A Tux is a more dressed up style of a suit, it's still tailored very well but you wear it to more formal events, such as: galas, proms, and award ceremonies(don't have to though for award ceremonies).

One celeb is wearing this to the emmys(on the left) and then Hugh Jackman is wearing this classic tux for hosting the Oscars(bottom).

3rd part: Casual

When it comes to casual gentlemen, there are places and times to be too casual(ripped jeans, t-shirts, etc.) When I say casual, I mean polos, nice shirts, etc.

For example, My friend Sam is an incredible dresser. He did a photo shoot a few months ago, and had great style:

Here he is in a nice purple, long-sleeved shirt and khakis. See? guys can wear this out running errands or going to school or anywhere really...(and by the way, guys rock in colors). Don't be afraid to wear colors! That is what this whole blog is about(risktaking).
If you wanna go for the hipster look, then I vote wearing flanel. It looks awesome on everyone! People get afraid of wearing flanel and I have no idea why. I understand if it's not your style, but if you're artsy and you don't know what kind of style you should go with, then use flanel as a start. My friend Sam is rocking this flanel shirt with blue jeans. It's simple and casual.

Here's Chris Pine walking the streets of L.A. in the flanel, lumberjack look and it looks great :).

See guys? That's it! It's not too complicated is it? So, if you wanna impress the ladies or just wanna change your style a little bit, then take my advice on these tips.

I hope this helps gents! :) I hope you guys enjoy this post.

One of the Most Wonderful times of the Year...

Hey guys!

It's that time of the year again...Thanksgiving time, black friday, christmas eve, christmas, New Year's Eve...etc. So you have to think of some fun outfits for those holidays( I will have blogs about those holidays coming up) but for now, I am going to talk about Thanksgiving.

Now, for thanksgiving you wanna look nice-casual or dressy depending on how your family get-togethers are.

For example, for a little holiday spirit, I wore this today as a pre-thanksgiving outfit:

A plain, green long sleeved top with a fun orange-red mini skirt. Along with brown panty hose and brown boots.

Then, I added a fun animal print scarf(it has the same green in and has brown) Fun!
Also, I added a fun trench coat with this...since it was a very bleak day :(
As usual, I'm gonna tell you what brands I was wearing:

Earrings: Stein Mart
Shirt: Forever 21
Mini Skirt: Forever 21
Brown Panty hose: Charming Charlie
Brown Boots: Halogen from Nordstrom Rack(Brown/Black blog)

Here is what I am wearing on Thanksgiving:

A really fun Red blazer with a polka dot shirt and blue jeggings and over-the-knee black boots. Fun, right? Make it very festive and an eye-catcher ;) And also, you can make over-the-knee boots appropriate with this outfit. One more thing, you don't need a necklace with this outfit because you already have the polka dots to pop this outfit(along with the red blazer).

You want to make sure that when buying a blazer, that it's tailored nicely in the back. Your figure looks a lot better that way.
Here are the brands I am wearing:
Earrings: Stein Mart
Red blazer: Forever 21
Polka dot Shirt: Forever 21
Jeggings: American Eagle
Over-the-Knee boots: Forever 21

See? Simple for the holidays and also very cute!

That is all I have for you folks! I hope you guys have an awesome and fashionable Thanksgiving ;).

Fashionable Weddings....

Hey Everyone!
Sorry I haven't posted for a while. Things have been pretty hectic this past week. But anyway, off to my theme of the post:
WEDDINGS :)
This past weekend, my cousin Alex married his beautiful bride Brea and they looked very stylish/glamorous for their wedding. Here's the example of what they did:
Here's one of the groomsmen dressed in dress pants, button down shirt, and suspenders; Very cool I have to say :)
One of the bridesmaids wearing a beautiful tan dress(simple) with flats and their hair is up which goes well with the dress.
Here are the flower girls wearing beautiful tan dresses as well, so pretty!:
Now off to the bride and groom:

The bride looks beautiful in this strapless lace dress with a gorgeous design and has a nice train in the back.

(Love the pic with the bridesmaids)
The groom is wearing a nice suit and dress shoes(classic and stylish). Even some of the groomsmen wore fedoras and that's stylish as well.
Here's what I wore to the wedding (along with my sister):
My sister and I wore simple dresses-I'm wearing the green dress with a pink ribbon around it(H&M) and my sister is wearing a blue dress with a black cardigan(Banana Republic).
See? A wedding doesn't have to be a BIG wedding. The wedding was simple, but beautiful at the same time.

Even Catherine Middleton's wedding was simple...except for the Royal part of it.
I hope this gives you future brides some ideas for your wedding....

Music + Fashion= Perfect Combination!

Hey guys,

Sorry I haven't been posting, I have been busy these past couple days. But anyway, off to our topic: Music and Fashion going together :).

As we all know, music and fashion have been going together for years...

It mainly became a big deal when the 40s hit with the swing music era and the fashion to go with it:

As you can see, you can wear 40s type fashion nowadays and it looks amazing!

When the 50s hit with the rock 'n' roll era, fashion immediately changed everything:

As the rock n roll era went on, the skirts got more flowy for the girls, which is fun :).  Unfortuantely, you don't see many women dress like this often.

The 60s were when different varieties of clothing were shown, which also went with the rock n roll era continuing and when folk music began:

As you can see here, there's some different fashions in the 60s and also the girls from Mad Men are in here. You can even wear a lot of these styles now and i'll give you some of the links at the end.
As for the later 60s, early 70s were where the flowers really became popular(Hippie era):

Very "psychedelic" wouldn't you say? ;)

Then, later in the 70s, Disco music came around and you know what that means; Glitter/colorful floors/disco balls galore!:

You can even wear a lot disco type of clothing nowadays and it's so cute! :)

When the 80s came into play, it became funk and more spandex clothing because music became edgier and funky:

As you can see, Demi Lovato is sporting an 80s outfit in front of the paparazzi and a lot of 80s trends are coming back :).

The 90s came around and that was the grunge period, where the music was very edgy:

Here's Kurt Cobain from the band Nirvana, and they are the big band to start the grunge.

Here are the spice girls in the mid-90s.

I hope you guys get my point that music goes well with fashion, they even have the appropriate music to go with a fashion show(depending on the designer).

It just shows how much fashion influences our day to day lives(especially the music).

I hope this helps :). Now I am going to give you a couple place to get some cool decade clothing:

Forever 21

Banana Republic

And a few other stores would have it too. And also vintage stores/antique places.

I hope you enjoyed this blog and I can't wait to see what fashion trend is coming up next...

Accessories are kind of a big deal...

Hey guys! :) I hope everyone's Halloween was awesome!

The topic I have for today is: Accessories. Accessories make the outfit, I mean let's face it! There are some circumstances where you don't need accessories at all and that is ok. But the perk of having accessories, they make your outfit pop! You can make a simple black dress look sexy with that one necklace, bracelet, earrings, scarf, etc. For example, for my job at Charming Charlie, I wore a simple black dress with some flower design on it.

As you can see, I added a white belt, some purple accessories in there, and a fun hair accessory to top it off; Made it very fun! As usual, I will tell you the brands I am wearing:

Dress: Charming Charlie
Headband: Charming Charlie(very kate middleton, huh?)
Earrings/Necklace: Charming Charlie
Ring: Charming Charlie
Belt: Charming Charlie
Tights: Express
Boots: Charming Charlie

Does it shock you that most of my clothing/accessories were from Charming Charlie? Probably not. Speaking of accessories, that is a great place to go to get good accessories for your outfits. The perk of that store besides it being girl heaven, it's COLOR COORDINATED! That is amazing, is it not (especially for us girls)? During consultations with me, we would go there(that's if you needed accessories). But no one can have too many accessories, right? :)

Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed my blog :) If you would like a consultation with me, all of the information is on previous blogs and my facebook page: Fashion with Carrington.

Until Next Time :)
